Twenty new models and the enrichment of the Total Living offer thanks to the harmonious combination of design, function, materials and colors
To build harmony by working on forms and materials, composing spaces where design meets the aesthetic in a lasting embrace; combining design, materials, colors and function to create harmonic interiors and to bring to the world style and Italian way of life.
Natuzzi, the Made in Italy design brand best known in the world among luxury goods consumers (source IPSOS-Lagardère), returned to the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2016 to present the new Natuzzi Italia collection and its latest innovations for the living, bedroom and dining areas. Over 20 new models – including sofas, beds, tables and chairs – compose a seamless path to immerse in and savor the style that has always distinguished the brand.
The new collection is the result of the work of the Natuzzi Style Centre, who follows the development of each and every product, always keeping in mind the company's DNA, as well as the contamination with external collaborations. To interpret the philosophy of the brand designers Maurizio Manzoni and Roberto Tapinassi of Studio Memo, Victor Vasilev, Claudio Bellini, Mauro Lipparini, Bernhardt & Vella took part in the creation of the new Natuzzi Italia collection.
THE NEW SOFAS
Among latest introductions, Ido, designed by Mauro Lipparini, stands out for its clean, well-defined lines, punctuated by an intersection of a number of elements that complement the levity of its elegant metallic feet. It also features the unique “kissed” stitching, folded inward to make it invisible on the outside. The sofa comes with a number of accessory elements, horizontal and vertical, cubic and basic. These elements combine both esthetically and functionally to enliven different narratives.
La Scala sofa is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic Chester model. A masterpiece of craftsmanship, it is characterized by the sinuous lines that wrap around the quilting detail and by its comfort, guaranteed by the fine padding inserted in the enveloping back and deep seat.
Other new sofas include Herman, Jeremy and Agorà by Studio Memo.
THE LIVING AREA
Designed by Victor Vasilev, the Plissè bookcase takes inspiration from the nineteenth-century separé style. This model exhibits a visual lightness that masks a robust structure built from modular panels, held together with supporting brackets. Versatility is the element that sets it apart from the competition – clean, sleek and elegant design make this piece a rather “mobile” element, adaptable to different spatial setups.
The Vico lamp, also designed by Victor Vasilev, is a luminescent sculpture in every sense, and packs a powerful visual punch. Its delicate, rounded spaces embody the purity of its lines and its presence in space. Other accessories for the living area include the armchairs Rose and Ambra, the Meridio coffee table set and the Mira lamp, all designed in the Natuzzi Style Centre in Santeramo in Colle.
THE DINING AREA
Natuzzi's new dining area products are represented by the Leggero collection, designed by Victor Vasilev. An elegant ensemble that makes lightness of form its strong point, Leggero is Vasilev's homage to Giò Ponti, the undisputed master architect and industrial designer. This furniture family, composed by the Leggero dining table and the Lisa armchair, has discovered its raison d'etre by eliminating superfluous elements, allowing it to achieve a unique sense of dynamic levity. New pieces include the containers of the Accademia collection by Bernhardt & Vella.
THE BEDROOM AREA
Proportions typical of the 1950s are resurrected by Studio Memo's architects Manzoni and Tapinassi in the Svevo set, which includes the bed, chair, nightstands and bedroom storage. The Svevo bed is the first of the Natuzzi collection to become an integral part of a total living design. The characteristic wooden legs coupled to metal inserts elegantly support the structure, while the large bed frame and headboard are generously sized for guarantee of convenience and comfort.
The collection is characterized by rounded and embracing shapes and for the structure of the feet in solid wood with precious metal details. Besides the sofa already in the collection, Studio Memo developed a series of furniture mixing shapes and materials. Glass is used on console, sideboard and chest of drawers to highlight the horizontal surfaces.
THE RELAX AREA
Comfort, design and softness are the guiding principles for the new Ilia armchair recliner, designed by Mauro Lipparini. Thanks to its reassuring and embracing shape, this structure is visually pleasing, and the extra softness achieved by Natuzzi's research center by combining two layers of high-density foam with an innovative material, typically used in the textile industry and now being applied in the furniture industry, provides the perfect finishing touch. The wooden base, available in different finishes, is a veritable shell, which connects with its electronic extendable footrests and supports its armrests.
